Honey bees

God has privileged honey bees in his book Al-Quran, namely the presence of one letter with the name of An-Nahl (bees) and honey as he called one of the drugs that cure for humans. 

Surah An Nahl verses 68-69 read: And thy Lord inspired the bees: Make the nests in the hills, on trees and in places made by human beings. Then eat from every (kind of) fruit fruits and follow the path of your Lord who has been at it easy. Then the abdomen of bees came out drink (honey) that a variety of colors, in which there is healing for mankind. Verily in this there are signs (the greatness of God) for those people who think.

Honey bees have been in the know humans since several thousand years ago, in ancient Egyptian times honey has become everyday necessities. Until this very day remains one of honey treatment for human needs and not a few of those who make the daily basic needs.

Types of honey bees

Life is always in colonies or honey bees in groups with a number of very many, in a bee colony consists of worker bees, male and queen bees with the nature of polymorphism (ie every member of the bee colony has a uniqueness and their respective duties.)

Bees in Latin is called Apis is a kind of honey-producing insects and better known as the honey bee. Honeybees generally consists of 4 types

1. Apis Cerana

Honeybees originating from Asia that has spread from Afghanistan, China, Japan to Indonesia. Honey cultivation is usually still traditional in nature. Within a year the honey bees produce honey this kind of bias about 2 to 5 kg of honey 

2. Apis Melifera

Honey bee originated in Italy and are usually not malignant, easily cultivated and has a slightly larger body than Cerana apis. Within a year the honey bee apis melifera can produce honey around 20-60 kg per colony of honey bees is more widely cultivated species of people and is suitable for commercial purposes

3. Apis Dorsata

Apis Dorsata or better known as the honey in the forest and only developing Asian region such as India, Philippines, China and Indonesia. Likewise for Indonesia found in forests of Sumatra, Maluku, Irian Jaya, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara Barat and Nusa east southeast. Within a year Dorsata Apis (honey forest) can produce honey around 15-25 kg per colony.

4. Apis Florea

Apis florea numerous in Oman, Iran, India and Indonesia. Within a year to produce honey apis florae about 1-3 kg of honey per colony.
